An iconic Peekskill theater will celebrate its 85th anniversary this weekend.
The iconic Paramount Theater opened its doors on June 27, 1930. Back then, it was a state-of-the-art 1,500-seat movie palace.
Paramount CEO Kurt Heitmann says the theater has gone from a movie palace to a playhouse to a music hall.
In 2013, Heitmann's Red House Entertainment took it over, and he says they are steadily winning the hearts of the community and returning the Paramount to its former glory.
The theater will celebrate its anniversary this weekend with a special concert by the Marshall Tucker Band.
