Some elementary school students in Peekskill became news anchors for the day, interviewing influential leaders in honor of Black History Month.
The event took place at Woodside Elementary School.
Students got to interview County Legislator Colin Smith and Peekskill Mayor Vivian McKenzie, the city's first African American woman mayor.
The school's principal says it was a great experience.
