The Peekskill School District is alerting parents after a student reported being approached by a suspicious van.

Tuesday, a woman in a blue-gray van allegedly asked a student if they wanted a ride. The student declined and reported the incident.

The Peekskill Police Department is investigating. The school district emphasized the importance of safety procedures and warned students never to accept rides from strangers.
