Peekskill residents packed The Field Library in Peekskill Wednesday to discuss how the city should invest a $10 million state grant meant to revitalize the downtown area.
This was the first of three public workshops.
Ideas for revitalization projects revolved around five improvement areas including creating job opportunities, making the community more walkable with more sidewalks, infrastructure expansion and repair projects. One of the major ideas is to connect the downtown to the riverfront.
The next community workshop is slated for December, and the deadline to decide how the city will invest the $10 million grant is in March.
