Peekskill man convicted of killing stepfather, setting apartment ablaze

A 32-year-old Peekskill man has been convicted of second-degree murder and arson in connection with the fatal stabbing of his stepfather and setting fire to his mother's apartment.
Shane Gilleo was found guilty in connection with the September 2022 incident, according to the Westchester District Attorney's office.
Authorities say Gilleo fatally stabbed 48-year-old Edward Reeves, then started three separate fires on the second floor of the two-family residence several hours later.
Gilleo was arrested a short time after the incident. He will be sentenced in September.
