Peekskill house puts the spooky in Halloween
There is always that one house on a block that is decked out with Halloween decorations, but there are few that can compare to the one at the house on the corner of Riverview and Longview avenues in Peekskill.

8ds agoThere is always that one house on a block that is decked out with Halloween decorations, but there are few that can compare to the one at the house on the corner of Riverview and Longview avenues in Peekskill.
It contains more than 100 skeletons and a custom pirate ship that is 16 feet long and 6 feet wide built by Henry Seger.
"I thought it was just going to be for the kids, but the parents get such a kick out of it," said Seger.
The 80-year-old, who is also the co-owner of Economy Oil in Peekskill, said his obsession with Halloween decorations started about eight years ago while thumbing through a catalog of Grandin Road.
"My wife was in Maine, so I called Grandin Road because if she was sitting next to me I wouldn't have been able to order them," he said.
Since then, his display has grown to include multiple intricate displays, including a wedding party and a fortune teller.
It's easy to see why word of mouth and social media draws hundreds of people from near and far.
This is the first time in two years Seger has put up his Halloween decorations.
Last year, trick-or-treaters instead saw a large white heart made of wood made to honor Seger's daughter who had just unexpectedly died.
"My heart wasn't in it," he said. "Even this year, very tough."
He lost a piece of his heart but also realized doing his Halloween display helps heal it.
It brings Seger just as much joy, as he hopes it brings to everyone else that makes the pilgrimage this Halloween.
Seger said he has more than 700 pieces of candy to hand out this Halloween night.
