A pedestrian is lucky to be alive after he was hit and dragged by an Jeep in New Rochelle overnight.
Witnesses tell News 12 a man was walking down Park Place around 12:30 a.m. when a Jeep backed up out a driveway, hit him, and then dragged him in the middle of the street. They say that the driver probably did not realize that he had hit the man and took off.
Meanwhile, the victim was taken to the hospital in serious condition.
An hour after police began their investigation, the driver of the Jeep returned to the scene. It is not known if the driver realized what had happened or just was returning home. His Jeep was towed to a nearby auto shop for evidence, and the man was taken back to the New Rochelle police station for questioning.
There have been no arrests at this time.
