The PEARLS Hawthorne School in Yonkers was presented with the prestigious "School of the Month" award on Thursday.
Mayor Mike Spano recognized those students at a special ceremony for their hard work and academic success.
"We work very hard, we study hard. We win in a lot of the competitions we do here at PEARLS like Science Olympiad and Math Olympiad," said seventh-grader Gabrielle Nolan.
The mayor has declared Thursday PEARLS Hawthorne School Day.
