A Patriot Day remembrance ceremony was held in Montgomery to honor the 44 people from Orange County who died at the World Trade Center on 9/11.
The crowd at the Arboretum was filled with families of victims, dignitaries, servicemen and women, first responders and those touched by the tragedy.
The service is held annually in front of Orange County's 9/11 floating granite memorial, which has the names of the victims inscribed below it.
As part of the tradition, family and loved ones are given a single red rose and are escorted to their seats by flags and pipers.
It was the first time that Jane Gyulavary, from Warwick, mourned publicly since losing her 44-year-old husband Peter Mark Gyulavary in the south tower that tragic day.
This year, 11 members of the armed forces from Orange County who have died since 9/11 are also being honored.
