A boil water advisory is in effect for certain areas of Orange County following a water main break.

The Orange County Department of Health has identified the Town of Highlands, Highland Falls, and Fort Montgomery as the affected areas.

Restaurants without access to running water are advised to close until service is restored, and any food utensils that came into contact with flood waters should be discarded.

Residents in the affected areas are instructed to use boiled or bottled water for drinking, making ice, brushing teeth, washing dishes, and food preparation until further notice.

Normal activities such as handwashing, bathing, and showering can continue as usual.
