A vocal argument between school officials and protesters was caught on video Saturday, and some of the people involved are demanding that police take action.
The video appears to show Ramapo Town School Board member Brendel Charles cursing at protesters as they demanded her husband, Bernard Charles, resign from his position on the East Ramapo School Board.
East Ramapo parents have long been at odds with the mostly Orthodox Jewish school board that they accuse of mismanaging the district.
Charles said Sunday that he and his wife were defending themselves after being threatened and berated by protesters.
Protester Denise DelValle says the opposite is true, and that she's especially upset that her children witnessed the outburst.
"They were saying the S-word, the B-word, and my daughter even said, 'Oh my God, he is on the school board,'" DelValle said.
Parents filed a complaint with Spring Valley police, they say, in the hope that Charles and his wife are charged with attempted assault and harassment.
Protesters say people who would swear in front of children have no business on a board of education.
Police have not commented on whether charges will be filed.
