Parents in the West Babylon School District are voicing safety concerns over buses driving in the snow on Wednesday morning.

One parent sent us photos of a bus towing another bus that got stuck.

In another instance, near Wellwood Avenue and Straight Path, parents were seen helping to dig a bus out.

A similar situation in the nearby North Babylon district where a bus spun out while picking up students.

One North Babylon parent tells News 12 she reached out to the Superintendent on Tuesday night about the decision to open schools on Wednesday.

The parent says corners were too narrow for buses due to poor plowing from the blizzard and she was worried about more snow in the forecast.

North Babylon Superintendent, Ken Graham, sent out a letter to the community on Tuesday noting that facilities, maintenance, custodial, and transportation staff were working since Sunday clearing snow, and said they were in touch with Babylon Town “to check in on locations that may be in need of additional shoveling or plowing.”

A town spokesperson says, "We understand the concerns raised and are working directly with the school districts to identify and address specific problem areas, including the locations mentioned."
