Isatou and Beatriz are both immigrants who say the struggles of being undocumented became apparent as they got older when it came to finding jobs or internships.
They discovered the Oyate Beyond Rising Internship program that is specifically tailored to undocumented students.
Beyond Rising is a program that partners with institutions like Columbia University's Teachers College, Fordham University, Lehman College and Hostos Community College, to give undocumented students ages 16-20 opportunities for a paid internship for their summer and school-year cohorts.
Isatou and Beatriz are headed into their first semester of college this fall, and say they are excited to take on the next adventure.
