Everyone who enjoyed free Thanksgiving dinners at Bob’s Diner in Brewster this year left with a bittersweet feeling. The holiday tradition of serving homemade meals has come to an end due to Brewster’s redevelopment plans.

Owner Thomas Sprague says the plans to revitalize the downtown business district do not include Bob’s Diner.

"They want to revitalize the Village of Brewster, make it better and they're going to rip a lot of stuff down. They've already started acquiring properties. The plan doesn't include having this building in this spot,” says Sprague.

The diner is set to be demolished. Sprague says there are no plans to reopen at a different location.
