More than 20 vehicles were vandalized over the weekend at the Regency Club Apartment Complex in Wallkill, leaving residents frustrated and concerned for their safety.

Residents say the damage was first discovered early Friday morning, although police say the incident occurred sometime Saturday. Victims found slashed tires, broken windows and missing personal items. Some vehicles remain visibly damaged, with windows covered in plastic and tires still flat.

According to neighbors, this is the second time this year cars have been targeted in the area. A similar string of break-ins occurred over the summer, but residents say this latest incident feels more aggressive.

“For whatever reason, it seemed kind of passionate this time… there’s just no reason for this,” said Linda Bartle, a longtime Wallkill resident.

Authorities are asking anyone with information or surveillance footage to contact the Wallkill Police Department.
