Ossining man sentenced to 15 years for hate crime stabbing

A man who pleaded guilty to a hate crime was sentenced Tuesday in the stabbing of a teen outside his Ossining apartment complex.
Robert McCallion, 35, will serve 15 years behind bars for the attack that happened in March of 2020.
Prosecutors say McCallion attacked the 17-year-old at the Avalon apartment complex on North Highland - where Mccallion also lived.
Officials say they did not know each other, but he approached the girl and callously attacked her - punching, choking, stabbing her -- all while hurling racial epithets and antisemitic slurs.
After the attack, investigators found two loaded assault weapons - and white nationalist paraphernalia, including a Nazi symbol.
He was taken into custody with blood on his hands. His victim was rushed to the hospital and had to undergo surgery.
Officials say the victim was visiting with family and did not know McCallion.
