A farm in Ossining has received thousands of dollars to help bring fresh food to residents.
Fable, a farm that provides organic food all year round, received a $41,000 grant from the Mid-Hudson Regional Economic Development Council.
Fable has free-range chickens laying fresh eggs, produce made without pesticides, and nutrient-rich fruit all year round.
"I think there is a desire and hunger for farm fresh produce that not only that tastes better but doesn't have pesticides, which is actually why I started this," says farm manager Tom Decon.
Deacon says he was thrilled when he found out they received the grant and says they money is going to help improve their greenhouses and diversify crops.
Fable also serves Westchester residents through an innovative community-supported agriculture program.
