Orangetown police: Man sought for approaching boy at Pearl River home

Orangetown police launched an investigation into a suspicious incident involving a man who approached a boy in front of his Pearl River home.

It happened just before 9 a.m. on South John Street.

Detectives say a 10-year-old boy was in his driveway when a car pulled up in front his house.

They say a man exited the vehicle and approached the child.

There was no communication or contact between the child and adult.

The boy went back inside and told an adult before the vehicle left the scene.

Police are asking anyone with information to contact them at 845-359-3700.
