An Orange County man faces charges stemming from two armed robberies and an attempted armed robbery during a 12-hour period in Spring Valley on Monday. Police say it began at 1 a.m. when a gunman robbed the Next Gas Station at 146 North Main St. of an undetermined amount of cash. At 11 a.m., authorities say the man entered Jac-Variedades, a clothing store at 74 North Main St.
He demanded money, but an employee pushed the panic button and the suspect fled without taking anything. The Metro PCS store at 12 South Central Ave. was then robbed of an undetermined amount of cash at 12:30 p.m. Police and the FBI Safe Streets Task Force arrested 40-year-old Adham Mohamed El-Gamal at his residence in Harriman early Wednesday. Police also recovered a loaded handgun. He faces federal charges and was arraigned in federal court in White Plains.
