Orange County DA: Yonkers woman sentenced for helping relative burn down self-owned restaurant

Officials say 39-year-old Marina Gjurashaj received a three-year conditional discharge and 600 hours of community service after conspiring with Zef Giurashaj, 60, to burn down Andiamo’s Restaurant in Newburgh after the business was failing.

The Orange County District Attorney’s Office says a Yonkers woman was sentenced Friday after assisting a relative of her husband burn down his restaurant in 2017.
They say 39-year-old Marina Gjurashaj received a three-year conditional discharge and 600 hours of community service after conspiring with Zef Giurashaj, 60, to burn down Andiamo’s Restaurant in Newburgh after the business was failing.
Marina Giurashaj, who was hired by Zef Giurashaj, pleaded guilty to arson and conspiracy and testified in the trial of Zef.
Zef Giurashaj was charged with arson, conspiracy and insurance fraud and sentenced from 22 years to life in prison.
