Prosecutors say Tartaglione lured Martin Luna to a bar in Chester in April 2016.
Luna, who brought three other men with him, was killed. Three others were taken to a property in Mount Hope and were fatally shot.
All four bodies were found eight months later, when Tartaglione was charged.
Tartaglione no longer faces the death penalty if convicted, but he still faces life in prison.
The trial is expected to last about a month.
