An accident killed a pedestrian Monday and snarled traffic on I-95 in Pelham Manor for much of the early morning rush hour.

A food delivery truck hit the pedestrian in a southbound lane before Exit 14 for the Hutchinson River Parkway just after 5:30 a.m.

The right lane was closed while officers investigated, slowing traffic for hours. The lane reopened shortly after 8 a.m.

It is not known yet why the pedestrian was on the highway.
