A truck filled with heating oil fell into a hole that was caused by a water main break outside a Yorktown park on Wednesday.
The incident occurred at Mohegan Lake Park in Yorktown around 3 p.m.
News 12 was told that as the BurkeHeat truck was making a turn onto Lakefront Avenue, the driver apparently thought he was passing through a puddle when the ground gave way beneath him.
Yorktown utilities workers quickly arrived and shut down water to the 6-inch main.
The truck was stabilized until workers could drain the oil out and pull the truck free.
Four houses were affected by the water main break. Crews were expected to work overnight to restore service.
