Officials: Yorktown couple found dead in home with 125 cats died from drug intoxication

Officials say drugs were involved in the deaths of a Yorktown couple found in their home with about 125 cats.
A county spokesperson says 58-year-old Mary McGuinness and 57-year-old Patrick Hickey died of acute mixed drug intoxication of fentanyl and cocaine.
The deaths have been ruled an accident.
The couple had been dead for about three days before their bodies were found.
Police were called to the home on Cordial Road to do a wellness check last month.
Humane enforcement officers and SPCA Westchester eventually removed all the cats and brought them to shelters.
