A 33-year-old Yonkers man who had threatened to kill Yonkers police officers and Mayor Mike Spano was found to be mentally incompetent to stand trial.
Ridon Kola was arrested last March on federal charges of making threatening interstate communications.
The U.S. Attorney's Office says Kola posted threats on social media against law enforcement, stating his support for ISIS and his intention to murder numerous police officers.
Earlier this month, a psychologist reported Kola was unable to assist properly in his defense.
He will be hospitalized for treatment at a suitable facility for up to four months.
The Bureau of Prisons will then submit a report on its findings to the court.
