Officials are joining forces to secure a deal that could inject millions of dollars into Rockland County.
Village, town and county officials sat down together Saturday to discuss a united push to build a Legoland park in Suffern.
The project brings the potential for 1,800 permanent jobs and millions of dollars in tax revenue, but some critics say the park could cause problems like noise pollution or congestion.
"There would likely be some significant infrastructure work to be done," says Rockland County Executive Ed Day. "Roads, sewers, things of that nature in order to make an application work."
Merlin Entertainments, the company behind Legoland, is also eyeing sites in Orange County and in New Jersey.
Plans to build a the park in Haverstraw fell through in October due to concerns about crowds and increased traffic.
