Officials are investing $4 million to repair a reflecting pool and fountains at the foot of the Kensico Dam in Valhalla.
Once a central part of the dam plaza, the pool and fountains have been dry since 2007.
The 2016 Westchester County budget includes borrowing for the project.
"This used to be a wonderful place," says County Executive Rob Astorino. "People from all over would come down here because of the reflecting pool and the fountain, and it really complimented this."
Many residents, including Tony Rummo of Yorktown Heights, says it's a good idea.
"It's a lot of money, but it's something that probably, people like me that would come over here, walking every day, some water running, it will be something nice," says Rummo.
