Veterans who were exposed to deadly toxins during the Vietnam War could soon see some relief.
Lawmakers held a news conference Monday in Maybrook to announce support of the "Blue Water" bill. The bill would help Navy veterans who suffer from illnesses related to the chemical Agent Orange.
The current law only covers veterans who can prove they had boots on the ground, and excludes Navy veterans who were exposed to the chemical.
During the Vietnam War, the U.S. government sprayed 20 million gallons of Agent Orange to remove jungle foliage.
