The Poughkeepsie hotel where the father of a Marist College student was shot and killed Sunday remains closed.
Police say the hotel's original plan was to close for three days, but that might change because there is more to process there.
Officials say they executed a search warrant in one room and then found other possible evidence. They said they are updating their warrants to help them finish processing the scene.
Police say that when they searched the room of one of the suspects, they found materials that could be used to make explosives, plus manuals on how to make explosives.
Police say the items themselves were not explosives.
Officials say one officer, upon arrival, detained one suspect at gunpoint in the courtyard of the hotel. Another officer detained the other suspect in the hallway.
News 12 was told that EMS then came in and transported the victim to the hospital. All guests were told to evacuate.
Police say one gun was recovered outside and one gun was recovered in the courtyard.
Prosecutors say they are working with the FBI and ATF at the scene to find out what other charges might come from all of this.
Police say they are still trying to figure out the suspects' motive. They say they did not have a connection to the victim.
