Officials: Multiple people hospitalized, 25 displaced after fire breaks out in Mount Vernon

A major fire broke out in Mount Vernon early this morning.

The fire broke out just before 4:45 a.m. on Elm Street near North Terrace Avenue.

Fire officials say smoke was covering the entire block.

Multiple people have been sent to the hospital for smoke inhalation. 25 people were displaced.

Con Ed is reporting 119 customers in the area are without power right now.
