A person in Sloatsburg says they spotted a bobcat at a community field.

According to the Humane Society, it is incredibly rare to see a bobcat as they're nocturnal.

If you see one that doesn't seem scared of you, it's probably because it's learned humans have food. You can scare them off by making loud noises and throwing your arms up.

Bobcats may prey on small animals, so keep them inside. Farm animals should be kept within strong enclosures as bobcats can climb.

Officials say to not leave out any food, close garbage lids and to remove bird feeders.
