Officials: At least 8 homes destroyed in Nanuet apartment complex fire

People who lived in Building 28 where the fire happened told News 12 that they have been left with serious devastation.

At least eight homes were destroyed Tuesday by a massive fire inside an apartment complex in Nanuet, investigators say.
It began at The Peaks apartment complex off Avalon Gardens Drive around 3:30 p.m.
Town leaders say emergency crews from multiple different departments helped to knock down the flames.
No serious injuries have been reported. There is one dog that is unaccounted for.
People who lived in Building 28 where the fire happened told News 12 that they have been left with serious devastation.
"My husband is a recent heart transplant patient. All of his medication is in the house. What do we do?” asked Fannetta Glass-Miles.
Emergency crews say the fire could be gas related, but a cause has not yet been determined.
As a precaution, gas and power is out for people who live and work in the area.
The Red Cross is helping families that lost their homes.
