Officials issued a warning to the community in Croton-on-Hudson about rising water levels in the Croton River.
The issue was alerted ahead of inspections on the new Croton Dam and spillway next week.
The New York City Department of Environmental Protection says it needs to bring water levels that will be going into the river down.
Officials warn residents to avoid wade fishing and kayaking.
