Officials say six people were rescued from a vessel in distress near the Newburgh-Beacon Bridge on Saturday.
Officials say the group on board the vessel set off a flare to let someone know they were in distress.
By the time crews got there, the six people were out of the boat safely, and the boat was already being taken out of the water.
It was not immediately clear what caused the distress.
