One person was killed in an early morning fire Saturday at an apartment in Chester.

The fire broke out sometime before 7 a.m. and engulfed the one-bedroom apartment, located above a detached garage the property owners were renting out.

Officials say the victim was a man in his 30s, but his identity will not be released until his family is notified.

The cause of the fire is not known at this time. Authorities say they've seen no evidence to suspect foul play at this time.
