Officers showed up at the home of a missing woman from New Rochelle, just after the body of an unidentified woman was found dead on the Port Chester-Greenwich border Tuesday.
Valerie Reyes, 24, left her home on Colonial Place in New Rochelle eight days ago, and no one has heard from her since.
According to her neighbors, New Rochelle police and a forensics team were inside Valerie's parents' home on Colonial Place Tuesday night, on the same day a body of a young women under 30 was found in the woods about 13 miles away.
News 12 cameras spotted two men on Colonial Place in an unmarked car Wednesday night. One of them said they were from the New Rochelle Police Department. A man who answered the door at the Reyes home claimed he is Valerie's father and confirmed that police were inside his home last night looking for "something."
The investigation comes on the same day Greenwich police in Connecticut found a woman's body bound in a suitcase in the woods off of Glenville Road.
New Rochelle police are not saying whether or not they were at the house Tuesday night or if there is a connection to the investigation in Connecticut - only telling News 12 they will release information "once all parties are notified."
