New York state is making a major investment by funding millions into children's mental health.

A total of $3.3 million in state funds are set to be allocated across 80 community-based organizations to help kids with mental illnesses, developmental disabilities and substance use disorders.

Seven Long Island based groups - including the Family & Childrens Association - will get the money.

"We are here to help navigate some of the struggles that you are going through,” said Family and Childrens Association Vice President and COO Lisa Burch. “You know, for the parents, we're here to offer the support you need to be able to help your child manage their mental health issues."
