One of the officers injured in the two police-involved shootings in the Bronx less than 12 hours apart over the weekend is from the Hudson Valley.

NYPD police Officer Paul Stroffolino, 31, is recovering at home in Warwick after being shot in an ambush on officers in the Bronx.

Police officials say 45 -year old Robert Williams, of the Bronx, shot at Stroffolino and his partner as they sat in their NYPD van, just before 8:30 p.m. Saturday.

According to the department, Williams walked up to the van, asked the officers for directions and then fired. Stroffolino was grazed by a bullet in the chin and neck.

Just 12 hours after that incident, NYPD officials say Williams went into the 41st Precinct and opened fire, striking an NYPD lieutenant in the arm. That lieutenant is recovering in a hospital.

Strofollino, an eight-year veteran of the NYPD, was wheeled out of a Bronx hospital Sunday morning to applause from scores of his fellow brothers in blue.
