Culvert work sparks confusion, safety concerns on Route 6N in Carmel

All northbound lanes on the Cross Bronx Expressway reopened after an overturned tractor-trailer forced a shutdown of the major roadway on Thursday.

The incident was reported around 3:45 p.m. near Jerome Avenue.

Traffic was diverted for several hours in the northbound lanes during the middle of rush hour.

Firefighters and other crews worked to lift the truck off the expressway.

FDNY says one person was sent to the hospital.

Their condition or what caused the accident were not known as of Thursday night.
