The mother of a 9-year-old girl
is facing a murder charge after it was determined by police that the child died
from a blunt force trauma in their Crown Heights apartment.
Shalom Guifarro’s body was found
following a 911 call made by employees of a restaurant below the apartment
where she lived with her mother and sister. The employees complained of a foul
odor.
At the scene, police say the girl
had trauma to her head and her body. The restaurant owner says the
mother and the two girls had lived there for about two years.
The child’s 13-year-old sister
was questioned by police and was released.
