NYPD: 1 dead, 4 hurt in motorcycle-SUV crash

A man is dead and four others were injured during a crash involving a motorcycle and an SUV.

Police confirm that around 9 p.m. Saturday evening, a 21-year-old man was operating a motorcycle at a high-rated speed and failed to stop at a red light at St. Anne's Avenue and E. 156th Street.

The 21-year-old sustained trauma to the body and was pronounced deceased at NYC Health + Hospitals/Lincoln.

A woman at the scene stated that she is related to the SUV driver. She said that her nephew and sister were in the car.

"Suddenly when she crossed the light, she hears something she thinks it's a gun – she cut her face, arm and my nephew has a lot of pain," she said.

Police say that the passengers of the car also sustained injuries and were taken to NYC Health + Hospitals/Lincoln by EMS in stable condition.

There were no arrests and the identity of the 21-year-old is pending family notification. The investigation is ongoing.
