Nyack's 32nd Annual Chamber of Commerce Halloween Parade is expected to bring in spectators, support for local businesses and family fun for the community.
The village of Nyack will transform into a land of make-believe filled with witches, princesses and storm troopers on Saturday. The Travel Channel called it one of the best Halloween parades in the nation.
The village also benefits from parade sponsorships. Bill Batson, of the Chamber of Commerce, says they take the money earned from the evening and put it back out to promote the village and its local small businesses.
Pickwick Book Shop owner John Dunnigan says Nyack's annual Halloween parade has grown over the past 32 years from hundreds of spectators to over 20,000.
Trick-or-treating begins at 1 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 27 and the parade kicks off at 5:30 p.m. from Memorial Park.
