A Nyack doctor who helped countless local residents in need has died.
Dr. Lloyd Hamilton ran the Health Lifeline clinic out of an old church convent in Nyack.
It served mostly undocumented immigrants and uninsured patients - people who might not have been able to get medical treatment without Hamilton.
His work helped thousands of people over the years, and he spoke recently to News 12 about his love of his patients. "Most of the people who came, if they could afford it, would leave a couple of dollars, but they were so grateful they would bring little vegetables from their garden or flowers or whatever they could."
The clinic's board will meet later this month to discuss ways to keep it running without Hamilton.
Hamilton was 91 years old.
