NY to raise smoking age to 21
Starting tomorrow you will need to be 21 to buy tobacco and e-cigarette products across the state of New York.
The new law raises the minimum age to buy cigarettes and other tobacco products from 18 to 21.
The statute passed the State Legislature last spring, and was signed into law in mid-July by Gov. Andrew Cuomo.
Things won't change much for people in the Hudson Valley since the legal smoking age in both Westchester and Rockland is already 21.
