New York State is looking out for employees affected by the pandemic.
Gov. Andrew Cuomo has signed new legislation to ensure access to paid leave.
The legislation requires state insurance programs to cover the full cost of workers' salaries for small businesses.
Medium-sized businesses will be required to provide five days of paid leave for employees. Anything after that will be provided by state insurance programs.
Large businesses and government institutions are required to cover at least 14 days of paid leave for employees.
