Four Orange County transport companies are facing accusations of Medicaid fraud.
The New York Attorney General Letitia James's Office says three men who own Tristate Express, Meditrans, Empire Trans and A-1 Class Car are charged with stealing $3.8 million from Medicaid.
Prosecutors say the companies operated schemes in which they illegally overcharged Medicaid for their transportation services.
All of the men involved have been charged with money laundering of their illegally obtained profits.
If convicted the men could face a range of sentences from 15 to 25 years in prison.
