Nonprofit aims to breaking barriers for elderly Latinos

Raices Spanish Speaking Elderly Council is helping Latino seniors get the social services they need while celebrating the cultures, history and contributions of the Hispanic community.
Seniors at Raices not only hit the dance floor regularly and stay active, they take part in a number of services the nonprofit offers, such as case assistance, providing a place to congregate and more.
The organization has nine senior centers and offers behavioral health services and help connect their members to necessary assistance.
Staff at Raices say that they hope to continue to bridge the gap between Latino New Yorkers and the services they need.
