A weeklong campaign launched Monday to encourage young people to drive safely throughout New York state.

The No Empty Chair Campaign aims to raise awareness and reduce accidents during prom and graduation season.

Crashes are the leading cause of death for teenagers, according to the Governor's Traffic Safety Committee.

Law enforcement will support the campaign by targeting different traffic infractions each day.

Officials say Monday’s focus is speeding in school zones.

Police officers will also visit and increase patrols near high schools.
