A 19-year-old Wallkill woman was killed and her two friends were taken to the hospital after a crash on the Palisades Parkway in West Nyack Saturday.

According to police, the three were coming home from Manhattan after a night of partying when the driver, 19-year-old Francesca Larosa, of Middletown, lost control of her SUV and smashed into a tree. Police had to use the Jaws of Life to free the girls from the crumpled car. Police say Jessica Dolu, who was in the front passenger seat, died instantly. Larosa was airlifted to Westchester Medical Center with serious injuries. The back seat passenger, 18-year-old Christina Towers, of Middletown, has been released from Nyack Hospital.

Investigators say speed was a factor in the crash and are investigating whether alcohol and fatigue may have also played a part. Police say they found a half empty bottle of Bacardi rum in the back seat of the car. Charges are pending against the driver.
