A new park in West Nyack is weeks away from opening to the public, and News 12 got a sneak peek before its opening.
The $4.4 million project received $1.3 million in state grants to mitigate flooding in the area and recreate wetlands.
It will feature a playground, exercise equipment and a half-mile loop around the park.
The park will also be a memorial to local firefighters with ties to West Nyack who died serving. Three pillars at the front entrance will have statues for Tom and Dan Foley, Ken Matero and Sept. 11 responders.
The park is part of the town's efforts to revitalize West Nyack.
News 12 has been told the next and final phase will begin next year.
